Adam and Alice own a lovely house in Headington, Oxford. With two children and family and friends regularly visiting, they needed an additional bedroom.

Rather than extending the house, we looked for ways to make better use of the existing space. We reorganised the first floor and moved the staircase, freeing up enough floor area to create a new bedroom for one of the children. A small dormer window to the side elevation brings natural light into the new room.

On the ground floor, we created a new hallway cupboard and WC, while the first-floor family bathroom and master bedroom ensuite were also renovated.

The building work was carried out by My1Plumber. The result is a home that works much better for the family, while retaining the character of the original house.
